On this course we will cover all the map reading and navigation skills, from the basics, all the way to the more detailed and intricate ways of navigating.  This is a comprehensive course and you should leave the course feeling as though you have all the skills there to head out into the unpathed territory of the hills and practise your Navigation with confidence.

We will look at: 

- Route planning

- Route finding

- Following paths

- Contour features recognition

- Compass bearings

- Different navigation techniques and strategies

-  Different maps and how to use them

- GPS

-  How to navigate using timing, pacing and more!

We will meet in Grasmere at 9am on Saturday morning, and the course will be run from a differnt starting point on Sunday morning, but will be within a 30 minute drive of Grasmere. You will need to bring suitable clothing, shoes and food for a whole day on the hill (see Kit List on Website - right hand side drop down menu).

Coronavirus protocols and precautions will be taken and followed.

Suitable for all experience levels - don't worry if you're a beginner! The course can be tailored to suit different experience levels.
