Micro Navigation Workshop - Mountain Leader Refresher

This is a single day event for anyone preparing for their Mountain Leader Assessment.

It will cover micro navigation techniques, including:

• Contour recognition and reading

• Compass bearings (all of them)

• Pacing and timing navigation legs

• Route planning

• Poor visibility navigation (How you are tested for night nav)

• Anything else navigation related that you would like to cover.

Good for those needing to boost their confidence with micro navigation!

The course will be based from near Llanberis. We will all meet at Caffi Caban (Brynrefail) at 9am on Sunday. There, we will grab a brew and have a chat before heading out to the hills for the day. We will drive from the Cafe to the hills that we will walk in, but if you do not have a vehicle, I can give you a lift!

The course will run from 9am to ~4pm.

Please bring with you a compass and an OS 1:25 map of North Snowdonia (OL 17)

Courses are not cancelled for bad weather, so please come prepared for the weather that it forecast.

Minimum of 4 people to run course.
