I offer a wide range of navigation courses, from beginners group courses to advanced 1:1 tuition, there is something for everyone.

PRIVATE COURSES AND TUITION
Most of the work that I do is Private Tuition; totally bespoke courses, built around your needs and what you would like to learn or experience. Just get in touch with me and we will chat about the best course for you. We do a date the suits you!
Summer courses are based in Snowdonia. Winter Courses are based in the Scottish Highlands. Enquire if you would like a course in a different location - this is also possible.

Introduction to Navigation
Introduction to Navigation is designed to get you grasping the basics of map reading and teach you the skills to begin gaining independence in the hills and mountains.
Covering skills such as:
- Understanding the map
- Relating the map to the ground
- Following where you are on the map
- Navigating on paths
- Navigating off paths
- Using a compass
- Contour interpretation
- Route planning
A navigation course can be any length, from 1 day to 5 days! I will work with you to tailor the course to your individual needs, even if you come as a group with varying levels of experience.

INtermediate Navigation
Intermediate Navigation is a course for those of you who already have some map reading skills but want to develop them further or remind yourself of a few things. This is a perfect course for anyone who is looking to do their Mountain Leader qualification!
Covering skills such as:
- Contour interpretation
- Compass Skills
- Navigating with map alone
- Poor weather navigation
- GPS devices
- Night Navigation
- Using different types of maps
- Pacing, Distances and Timing of navigation
A navigation course can be any length, from 1 day to 5 days! I will work with you to tailor the course to your individual needs, even if you come as a group with varying experience levels.

Advanced Navigation
Fancy challenging your navigation? Or developing your skills? Advanced Navigation is designed to really get your brains working and help you to feel confident navigating off path in the hills and mountains in any weather!

- Zero visibility navigation

- Detailed contour interpretation
