Navigation Course, Snowdonia

On this course we will cover all the basic map reading and navigation skills, as well as the more detailed and intricate ways of navigating.  This is a comprehensive course and you should leave on the Tuesday feeling as though you have all the skills there to head out into the unpathed territory of the hills and practise your Navigation with confidence.

We will look at: 

• Route planning
• Route finding
• Paths
• Contour features
• Compass bearings
• Different navigation techniques and strategies
• Different maps, GPS
• Timing, pacing and more!

You will need to bring suitable clothing, shoes and food for a whole day on the hill.

Accomodation is not included.

Suitable for all experience levels - don't worry if you're a beginner! The course can be tailored to suit different experience levels.

The course runs from 9am to 4pm each day. On Day 1, we will meet at Caffi Caban in Brynrefail at 9am, where we will grab a brew and have a chat about the course before driving a short distance to park up to head into the hills for the remainder of the day. Day 2 will be a 9am meet to head out into the hills straight away, back at cars by 3/4pm for a debreif (maybe in a cafe for brews and cakes!).
